Physical Development

The physical development of young children is encouraged through the provision of opportunities for them to be active and interactive to improve their skills of co-ordination, control, manipulation and movement.

A range of equipment and opportunities, both indoors and    outdoors, allows children to develop confidence and enjoyment in    the use and development of their own bodily skills.
A high level of adult supervision enables children safely to create    and meet physical challenges, developing increasing skill and    control in moving, climbing and balancing.
Children are supported in the development of the fine motor skills    required to use tools, including pens and pencils, and to handle    small objects with increasing control and precision.

Good health in the early years helps to safeguard health and well-being throughout life and children are encouraged to learn about food and activities which develop healthy habits.
